    AB World Foods Limited

AB World Foods is part of Associated British Foods, a major international manufacturer of branded grocery products that includes many market-leading household names.
Associated British Foods (ABF): a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group that's also a FTSE 100 company with sales of over £15.4 billion and 133,000 employees in 50 countries.

AB World Foods is an international branded business, famous for flavour. With approximately 700 employees and c£160m turnover, we work across eight geographical locations, or hubs, as we like to call them.

We are borne of pioneers, of people who inspire us. People like L.G. Pathak, who arrived in the UK in 1957 with just £5 to his name and started a family company that became the reason the UK loves curry: Patak's.

In the 1970s, G Costa, driven by the same entrepreneurial spirit, discovered there was nothing in the shops to help British people recreate the authentic taste of Asian food at home. So an adventurous team headed out to the Far East, bringing back the most authentic, exciting flavours they could. And with that, the Blue Dragon brand was born. Fast forward to 2007 and another inspiration appeared in the form of Levi Roots, the man who slayed the Dragon's Den on BBC with just a bottle of his Reggae Reggae sauce and a guitar.

AJEAST Nigeria Limited, is a subsidiary of AJE Group, a Peruvian soft drink producer, with a vibrant presence in over 20 countries. While the period from the third quarter of 2015 to the first half of 2017 was a challenging time for Nigeria, AJEAST Nigeria Limited made its entrance into the Nigerian economy in October 2015.

First, they expanded to neighbouring Venezuela, Ecuador and then Mexico. Then, the company expanded its footprints to Central America, Brazil and Colombia. Once they had made significant inroads in Latin America, they turned their sights to Asia. By 2010, they were in Thailand, and soon after, in Indonesia. In 2015, it came into the African market, targeting Africa’s business hub, Nigeria and Egypt.

That strategy, according to an article in Financial Times, is a combination of low-cost operating strategy and clever marketing which has enabled AJE to make inroads in some markets in Latin America and Asia. AJEAST’s surprising ability to penetrate the Nigerian market and establish itself as a formidable player in the market space is hinged on AJE’s innate strength in adapting to local market needs.

  • Dogan's Sugar Limited

    Dogan's Sugar Limited

Dogan's Sugar Limited is founded in Lagos, Nigeria in 2013 to meet Nigerian society with the best quality cube sugar products with the best price. There are plenty of benefits you'll acquire while choosing our products, such as:
    1. Half Portioned Cubes:
    • While the world has switched to half portioned cubes long time ago, European manufacturers whose consumers has already left using them in their homeland are still exporting old big sized cubes to African countries. Dogan’s Sugar Cubes are produced in the same sizes like in the most developed European countries like France, Germany, UK, Italy and Spain etc…
    • Small cubes makes it easier to portion sugar consumption especially when you need a half of a big cube. Instead of breaking a big cube by mostly biting or crushing it, you’ll always have a half size small cube to match the finest sweetness you need!
    • Small cubes dissolves always faster! Because 2 small cubes, which is roughly one big cube, has more surface area between the sugar granules and the liquid in which they are dissolving, which accelerates the reaction. The size of the cube and dissolving speed makes it ideal for consumption with tea, coffee and with anything else when you want your portioned sugar to be dissolved faster.
    • Espresso lovers will also enjoy the size of small cubes as you can dissolve them gently in small espresso cups. It makes it ideal for hotels, restaurants and cafes for serving next to hot drinks.
    2. Proudly Made in Nigeria:
    • Dogan’s Sugar Cubes are produced in Lagos, Nigeria with completely Nigerian raw materials. Dogan’s Cube Sugar factory applies International Food Standards for food safety and quality.
    • In production of Dogan’s Sugar Cubes, it is only used full automatic high technology European sugar processing lines with zero hand contact with the product. Our production capacity is 4.5 Millions of 500 grams cube sugar packs per month which is equivalent to 2182.5 Tons of cube sugar or 90,000 cartons per 50 packs. Even today, we can easily cover the production of all cube sugar consumption of whole Nigeria with the lines we have already on ground.
    • By choosing Dogan’s Sugar Cubes, you are also giving your valuable support to Nigerian agriculture industry, Nigerian printing and carton industry, Nigerian workers with their families and Nigerian government who collects taxes from our company. Basically you’re helping Nigerian economy and society. Please don’t forget that when you choose an imported product, all these benefits and your money goes abroad without any benefit to our society.
    3. Best Quality with Surprising Price
    • Dogan’s Sugar Cubes are produced with the premium quality refined white sugar. Nigerian sugar refineries are always producing and supplying us specially treated sugar for our cube sugar production.
    • You will always get the most from Vitamin A. Vitamin A starts spoiling when it is faced with high heat, oxygen or light. Because Dogan’s Sugar Cubes are not imported but locally made, you will always get the most fresh sugar and most rich Vitamin A content.
    • Because Dogan’s Sugar Cubes are made in Nigeria, it will be always cheaper than imported alternatives. Why not pay less and do economy for your family while you’re buying fresher and premium quality product while supporting Nigerian economy and society?

On the 1st of July, 2021, the company unveiled Whisky Elegamon; the latest entrant into the company’s premium brands SKU. • Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc

    Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc

Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN) was incorporated on 29th September, 1960 as a private limited liability company with a modest paid-up share capital of N1 million and converted to a public company in November, 1978. The beneficial interest in the company’s equity is held by Nigerian and Overseas shareholders.  Presently, two foreign shareholders own about 56% of the company’s paid-up share capital.  The balance is held by over 75,000 individuals and institutional investors.

Wheat milling forms the financial backbone of our diversified company. FMN pioneered flour milling in Nigeria when its first mill was commissioned at Apapa in 1962 with a grinding capacity of 500 metric tonnes of wheat per day. Today, the Apapa milling complex has a rated capacity of over 8,000 metric tons per day making it one of the largest single site mills in the world. All the mills are manned by a team of highly trained and skilled professionals working at a high level of efficiency attested to by our ISO 9001:2008 accreditation recognizing that our flour manufacturing facilities are world class and operate within an internationally recognized Quality System. FMN had over the years made huge investments in milling technology and human capital to sustain its pre-eminent position and maintain its competitive advantage in the Nigerian flour milling industry.

In its over five-decade history, FMN’s flagship food brand, “Golden Penny”, continues to be one of the best known and the preferred brand amongst bakers, confectioneries and consumers in Nigeria. The “Golden Penny” basket of foods has now grown to include products such as semovita, masavita, pasta, noodles, refined sugar, margarine, vegetable oils, and a range of snacks and breakfast cereals, instantly recognizable in any Nigerian household.

FMN’s first investment outside Flour Milling was in BAGCO in 1978. BAGCO now a Division of FMN is a pace setter in woven polypropylene sack manufacturing.  With its two giant plants at Lagos and Kano, it is by far the largest and supplier of choice to many industrial and agro-allied companies in Nigeria in the packaging of flour, cement, grains, salt, detergent, fertilizer, merchandise, farm harvests, shopping, etc.  The BAGCO brand which has succeeded in gaining international recognition has also entered the export market with some of its polymer bags going to the African Continent and as far as the United States of America.

Another significant milestone was the company’s foray into Cement. The company operated a large cement terminal at Apapa and marketed its cement under “Burham Cement” brand, renowned for high quality and consistency.  The cement terminal had a handling capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes of cement per day.  In line with Federal Government’s backward integration policy, Flour Mills invested in the United Cement Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (UNICEM) Calabar, in 2002.  UNICEM operates a green field, fully integrated cement plant, with a capacity of 2.5 million metric tonnes of cement per annum. In 2015, a strategic decision was made to dispose of the investment in UNICEM and refocus the group as a publicly traded, Food and Agro-Allied company that strives to use locally sourced materials to develop and produce unique consumer products for the local markets.

Beyond wheat based products, FMN Group’s strategic imperative in the years ahead is to create value in the supply chain and reduce dependence on imported raw materials. To this end, FMN has recently invested billions of Naira in its agro-allied ventures. The Group’s strategic diversification into agribusiness began in 1978 with the investment in a 10,000ha Kaboji Farm, which is close to the town of Kontagora in Niger State. We have subsequently made many other significant investments in primary processing of locally grown soybean, palm fruit, cassava, maize, and sugar cane; storage, aggregation and distribution of locally sourced grains and export commodities; manufacture, and distribution of agro-inputs, such as seeds and fertilizers. These strategic investments across the major crop value chains are setting the pace for others to follow and continue to strengthen our position as Nigeria’s Premier Food and Agro-Allied Company.

To ensure the continued viability and sustainability of our Food and Agro-Allied operations in a challenging business environment, we have also invested heavily in support services in the form of manufacturing and marketing of packaging materials; power generation; ground transport logistics; and port operations; which include shipping, customs clearing, forwarding, and a shipping agency.

Indeed, FMN Group is continuously exploring opportunities for strategic partnerships to grow and enhance competitive positioning in its main line of business in Nigeria and at a future date extend its investment and business activities beyond the borders of Nigeria.

The premier source for authentic Latino cuisine, Goya Foods is the largest, Hispanic-owned food company in the United States. Founded in 1936 by Don Prudencio Unanue and his wife Carolina, both from Spain, the Goya story is as much about the importance of family as it is about achieving the American dream.

    GOYA history

Founded in 1936 by Spanish immigrants, Goya Foods, Inc. is the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States and the premier source for authentic Latin cuisine. Combined with authentic ingredients, robust seasonings, and convenient preparation, Goya provides consumers with over 2,500 high-quality and affordable food products from the Caribbean, Mexico, Spain, Central and South America.

Goya has fostered a longstanding history in leading the culinary culture of Latin cuisine in the United States while solidifying its position as an iconic symbol beginning in New York City. The company’s commitment to excellence is the cornerstone of Goya’s popular credo, “If It’s Goya, It Has To Be Good”. The result of this simple, yet deeply resonant pledge is the evolution of Goya Foods as a leader in the Latin American food industry and a trusted American brand.

The history and story of Goya are as much about the importance of family and values as it is about achieving the American dream and helping to cultivate the Latin culture in the United States. In 1936, Don Prudencio Unanue and his wife Carolina, immigrants who first migrated to Puerto Rico from Spain, started Goya in a small storefront on Duane Street in Lower Manhattan. Driven by the belief that there was a growing consumer market for high-quality, fresh-tasting, Latin foods, the Unanues catered to local Hispanic families by distributing authentic Spanish products including olives, olive oil, and sardines.

As the Hispanic population grew in New York and throughout the United States, Goya’s product line and facilities expanded as well. The company relocated from Lower Manhattan to Brooklyn in 1958, until it established its current headquarters in New Jersey in 1974. In 2005, Goya launched a 10-year strategic plan and invested $500 million in a global expansion, designed to reach new consumers and strengthen the Goya brand worldwide. From 2014 - 2016, Goya opened five new state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution centers in Texas, California, Georgia and New Jersey to meet consumer demands for Goya products. In total, the company now boasts 26 facilities throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Spain, and employs over 4,000 worldwide.

Goya has always strived to be a company of passionate people that care about making a difference in the community. In 2018, Goya was ranked #2 as a leading U.S. food brand for its social influence and community support, according to TotalSocial rankings. Through Goya Gives, Goya supports nearly 300 charitable endeavors, programs, scholarships, and events, and donates millions of pounds of food to local food banks and shelters, especially during times of natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Superstorm Sandy, and Hurricanes Harvey and Irene. In 2017-2018, the company launched the ‘Can Do’ campaign to benefit Feeding America and donated over 1.5 million pounds of food to families in need across the country. In 2011, President Barack Obama honored Goya for its continued success and commitment to the Hispanic community, the only company to ever be honored by the President. In 2012, Goya collaborated with First Lady Michelle Obama and the USDA to launch the MyPlate/ MiPlato campaign. Goya recognizes the important role businesses play in leading the way for environmental change, and is the largest user of solar energy among Hispanic owned food and beverage companies, ranking as one of the top corporate solar users in the U.S. food and beverage industry.

Goya Foods remains firm in its goal of being the brand of choice for authentic Latin cuisine while retaining its family-oriented approach to its consumers and its roots in the culinary traditions of Hispanic communities throughout the world. For more information, please visit Goya.com

    Our History

Guinness Nigeria has a rich heritage that stretches back almost two centuries.

Guinness Nigeria Plc is home of the first Guinness brewery outside of the British Isles. The first bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout in Nigeria was brewed on the 30th of November 1963, three years after Nigeria’s independence - opening up opportunities for the overseas Guinness Foreign Extra Stout brewing in other parts of the world. Two years later, in 1965, Guinness Nigeria was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. We are proud to be the world's second-largest market for Guinness, and a major part of the inspiring long history of brand Guinness.

Steady growth in markets for Guinness Stout and Harp Lager during the next 30 years prompted the building of three more major breweries in Nigeria. In 1974, the company built a second brewery in Benin, where it produced Harp lager beer. This facility was later expanded to accommodate a second stout brewery, commissioned in 1978. In 1982, a fourth Guinness brewery was built in Ogba, Lagos to brew Harp Premium Lager beer. This site too, was expanded to include Guinness Stout. In 2011, the Benin and Ogba breweries were expanded to further increase capacity and meet the growing demand for Guinness Nigeria products which include the acclaimed brands: Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, Guinness Extra Smooth, Malta Guinness, and Harp Lager beer. Other brands include Gordon’s Spark, Smirnoff Ice, Armstrong Dark Ale, Satzenbrau Pilsner, Top Malt, Harp Lime, Dubic Extra Lager and most recently, Malta Guinness Low Sugar.

Currently, we are proud to be the only Total Beverage Alcohol Company in Nigeria. This means we are the only company currently with a wide portfolio of brands catering to alcohol and non-alcohol drinkers, with Spirits, Lager & Beers, and Non-Alcoholic drinks.

  • Innoson Group of Companies Ltd

    Innoson Group of Companies Ltd

    OUR STORY

cc Through the leadership of our visionary founder, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma [OFR] our reputation as one of the leading proponents of made-in-Nigeria brands started from a humble beginning 38 years ago!

What merely began as motorcycle spare parts retailing/trading has over the years grown into one of Nigeria’s biggest industrial success story. Dissatisfied with the ever increasing cost of imported foreign-used [tokunbo] motorcycles as well as the brand new ones, our founder took a major leap of faith that permanently altered the history and course of the Innoson Group.

The Innoson group is still marching forward ever stronger!

He switched from a trader to become a manufacturer of brand new motorcycles in Nigeria through Innoson Nigeria Limited crashing the market price from N150,000 to N70,000. The Innoson brand of motorcycles maintained the same quality as the foreign imported new ones, but sold for less, even cheaper than the foreign-used. This audacious move of his till today is responsible for the eradication of foreign-used [tokunbo] motorcycles in Nigeria!

Backed by this unprecedented success in the history of Nigeria, the Innoson group launched further into industrial manufacturing through technology transfer. 38 Years after our founder started this remarkable journey, today, with over 7400 Nigerian workers, the Innoson group is still marching forward ever stronger!

    Our Purpose

Driving the Nigerian economy forward through industrialization, technology transfer and job creation.

    Our Vision

Becoming Africa’s biggest manufacturer of made-in-Nigeria products. .

    Our Mission

Pioneering the local production of foreign imported industrial goods cost effectively.

  • Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co

    Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co

    OUR STORY

    – we’ve done it before for motorcycles; we are doing it again for automobiles!

    In the beginning….

The year was 1978; a commercial town situated in the Eastern part of Nigeria, called Nnewi was the central hub for motorcycle importation. As it is today for tokunbo (foreign used) cars, so it was then for tokunbo motorcycles, they were the status quo.

By 1987, a brand new motorcycle sold for N150,000 and a tokunbo one sold for N100,000 – N90,000. Things would have continued this way to this day, but for the intervention of a 25 years old Nigerian, named Innocent Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson Motors (IVM).

Driven by his passion for people and his core business philosophy of bringing down costs and passing the gain to customers, he pioneered the first Made-in-Nigeria Motorcycle brand that sold for as low as N60,000. By year 2002, he had successfully driven out tokunbo (foreign used) motorcycles out of Nigeria forever!

    The Present…

We are manufacturing durable and affordable brand new automobiles for Africans. Our brand new automobiles are selling for almost the cost of their tokunbo equivalents. And they are as good as any foreign automobile brand you know.

The statistics are alarming,  according to a recent research by PricewatershouseCoopers (PwC), the ratio of brand new automobiles to foreign used ones on Nigerian road is 1 : 131.  Meaning that for every brand new car bought, there are 131 tokunbo ones!

    OUR PURPOSE

    …Why do we exist?

To eradicate “tokunbo” (foreign used) automobiles from Africa

    OUR VISION

…what do we want to achieve?

To become the pride of African roads i.e. Africa’s most preferred automobile brand

    OUR MISSION

    …how do we achieve these?

To make durable and affordable brand new automobiles for Africans

  • Intercontinental Distillers Ltd

    Intercontinental Distillers Ltd

    WHO WE ARE

The history of Intercontinental Distillers Limited dates back to 1749 when two Italians, Justerini and Brooks came together to form a wine and spirit business which they called J&B (derived from the initial of their names).

J&B went through series of acquisition and ownership change until it became what was known as International Distillers & Vintners (IDV). IDV itself was the spirit division of the then Grand Metropolitan Plc of the United Kingdom.

Grand Metropolitan Plc’s strategy to refocus her business, with the view to capture the international market, gave rise to the incorporation of International Distillers Nigeria Limited (IDNL) in1983.

International Distillers Nigeria Limited (IDNL) as it then was, commenced production in 1984 with Eagle Aromatic Schnapps on a manual line. The staff strength then was 53, of which three were expatriates.

To complement Eagle Schnapps, the company imported and marketed tested brands  such as SMIRNOFF, BAILEY’S Irish Cream and GILBEYS London Dry Gin. IDNL subsequently commenced a series of expansion which saw it through its first decade of operation with increased popularity, market acceptance and preference for her products such as Chelsea London Dry Gin which was introduced in 1987.

The company grew in size through the development of a wide range of portfolio of successful brands, relying on a sound understanding of the Nigerian wines and spirit market, and indeed of the West African sub–region. In 1997, International Distillers Nigeria Limited metamorphosed into Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL).

Today, IDL produces and markets leading products such as Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, Chelsea London Dry Gin, Squadron Dark Rum, Bull London Dry Gin, Bull Dark Rum, Action Bitters, Confam Bitters, DeROK Cafe Liqueur, DeROK Chocolate Flavoured Liqueur, Commodore Aromatic Schnapps, Chapeau Wine, Veleta Fruit Wine.

IDL has a network of branches and distributors that covers the entire nation. It operates from regional offices which are complemented by Forty–one(41) depot locations.

The Board of Directors and Management is made up of time-tested professionals in business and in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry. This is a key factor to our success story.

On April 20th 2012, IDL became NIS ISO 9001:2008 certified. This is in reinforcement of her commitment to producing quality drinks that meet customers satisfaction at all times.

    WHAT WE DO

We are producers and marketers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The operations of IDL are manned by time tested professionals in the business and in the industry. This is a key factor to a success story which we intend to maintain.

We have a network of highly mobile salesmen and executives based at our various depots and an array of distributors spread all over the country.

  • NASCON Allied Industries Plc

    NASCON Allied Industries Plc

    Our History

NASCON Allied Industries Plc (previously National Salt Company of Nigeria Plc) was established in 1973 as a salt refinery at Ijoko (Near Sango-Ota); Ogun State as a joint venture between the Federal Military Government of Nigeria and Atlantic Salt & Chemical Inc. of Los Angeles, California, USA, due to an identified need for self-sufficiency in the production of this essential commodity.

In order to achieve this, the Federal Military Government appointed Messrs Atlantic Salt & Chemical Company Incorporation as Technical Partner for the establishment of this company in October 1972; the technical agreement was signed on March 1973. The National Salt Company of Nigeria was thus incorporated on April 30, 1973.The equity shareholding of the company at the time was:

Federal Military Government of Nigeria 55%

Atlantic Salt & Chemical Inc. 35% (Technical Partner)

Former Western State Government 10% (Now Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Lagos and Ekiti States)

The construction work commenced on October 20, 1974. Construction of the refinery was completed in December 1975 and erection of plants and machinery was completed in August 1976, with a total capacity of 110,00Mt. With the acquisition of controlling shares by Dangote Group, the average daily production increased to 600,000 metric tons per annum, with the inclusion of three refineries in Apapa, Oregun and Port Harcourt.

The production activity at the Apapa plant started in 2001 with the production of edible and kitchen salt in 25kg and 50 kg (bulk) sizes. The Port Harcourt refinery commenced production in 2003, while production at Oregun kicked off with the production of iodized table salt in 250g, 500g and 1Kg sachet sizes for domestic use under the brand names Annapurna®* and Dangote®.

*Annapurna is a brand name owned by West Africa Popular Foods (WAPF) as a joint venture between NASCON and Unilever Nigeria Plc.

By-products from the salt refining process include:

Fine (butter) salt (used in the production of biscuits and confection)

Granulated kitchen salt and industrial salt.

    PRODUCT EXTENSION/PRODUCT LINE EVOLUTION

In 2014, the business expanded its product lines to further increase profitability in line with our long-term growth objectives. In 2014, NASCON took advantage of its leadership position in the production of specialized PDV salt, and expanded into the production of flavoured seasoning and stock cubes under the brand name Dan-Q.

Dan Q seasoning is presently available in chicken and beef flavour variants with plans to expand our flavour offerings in line with consumer needs and the demand for flavour variation.

Dangote Tomato Paste is a thick paste made by cooking high-quality organic tomatoes for several hours to reduce moisture, then straining them to remove the seeds, skin, and then cooking them again to reduce them to a thick, rich concentrate. We entered into this product category in response to an identified supply gap within the Nigerian market where local production plus imports have been unable to effectively meet local demand. We currently sell our tomato paste under the Dangote brand name.

Vegetable Oil: Also in response to the obvious supply gap in the market and the perennial shortage of vegetable oil, resulting in the influx of low quality grey imports into Nigeria, NASCON PLC in 2015 commenced the production and sale of vegetable oil as a high grade refined product for domestic and industrial use. For the moment, we avail the product in bulk to end users for the production in the food industry. We expect to expand into retail packaging in the very near future.

A member of the Dangote Group of companies, NASCON is squarely committed to achieving the mission and vision of the group through our products and every interaction.

To be a world class enterprise that is passionate about the quality of life of the general populace and giving high returns to stakeholders.

  • Nigerian Breweries Plc

    Nigerian Breweries Plc

    Our Company

We are proudly Nigeria’s pioneer and largest Brewing firm. Our company was incorporated in 1946 and in June 1949, we recorded a landmark when the first bottle of STAR lager beer rolled off our Lagos Brewery bottling lines. This first brewery in Lagos has undergone several optimization processes and as at today boasts of one of the most modern brew house in the country.

In 1957, we commissioned our second brewery in Aba. The Aba Brewery has also recently undergone several optimization processes and has been fitted with best in brewery technology. In 1963 we commissioned our Kaduna Brewery while Ibadan Brewery came on stream in 1982. In 1993, we acquired our fifth brewery in Enugu. A sixth brewery, sited at Ama-eke in 9th Mile, Enugu was commissioned and christened Ama Brewery in October 2003. Ama Brewery is today the biggest and most modern brewery in Nigeria.

Operations in the Old Enugu Brewery were however discontinued in 2004. We acquired a malting Plant in Aba in 2008.

In October 2011, our company bought majority equity interests in Sona Systems Associates Business Management Limited, (Sona Systems) and Life Breweries company Limited from Heineken N.V. This followed Heineken’s acquisition of controlling interests in five breweries in Nigeria from Sona Group in January 2011. Sona Systems’ two breweries in Ota and Kaduna, and Life Breweries in Onitsha have now become part of Nigerian Breweries Plc, together with the three brands: Goldberg lager, Malta Gold and Life Continental lager.

In 2014, we got approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the respective shareholders of both Nigerian Breweries Plc and Consolidated Breweries Plc to merge the operations of both companies. The merger became final on December 31, 2014

Following the successful merger, we now have three additional breweries in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Awo-Omamma in Imo State and Makurdi in Benue State. The merger also brought an additional seven brands into our portfolio.

Thus, from that humble beginning in 1946, our company has now grown into a Brewing Company with 11 breweries, 2 malting plants and 26 Sales depots from which our high quality products are distributed to all parts of Nigeria.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has a growing export business which covers global sales and marketing of our brands and dates back to 1986. Our Mission

"To be the leading beverage company in Nigeria, marketing high quality brands to deliver superior customer satisfaction in an environmentally friendly way”.

  • Niyya-Farm Group Limited (NFGL)

    Niyya-Farm Group Limited (NFGL)

It all started with Niyya-Farm Group Limited (NFGL), a Nigeria corporation registered in 2002 with offices located at 60 Kaduna Abuja Expressway, Kaduna, Nigeria. NFGL is an agro-industrial enterprise that owns a processing facility, dairy farm, orchards and agricultural lands. Niyya Food & Drinks Company Limited (NFDCL) is a subsidiary of NFGL and the manufacturer of Farm Pride Natural Juices and Farm Pride Yoghurt.

In 2014, Verod Capital invested in NFGL. Farm Pride is currently re-branding the Natural Juice and Yoghurt line to strategically position premium drink products within mainstream Nigeria, as Natural Juice and Yoghurt lifestyle products.

    Agriculture

NFGL owns one of the largest fruit farms in Kaduna, occupying approximately 3,000+ hectares.

Our farms were traditionally dairy and fruit farms until 2010 when the conversion to Juice and Yoghurt began. By 2011 the farms were entirely converted to Juice and Yoghurt agro-processing. The fruit varieties grown consist mainly of Orange, Mango, Passion, Guava, and Pineapple, with the capacity to grow Grapes and Avocado

NFGL has erected a state of the art Greenhouse to produce exotic organic vegetable crops for both local and export markets. NFGL has deployed environment friendly practices to ensure sustainability and soil conservation and succession planning. We’ve installed a modern drip irrigation system that ensures precise water application to crops and minimum water use; an earth dam on the farm is our main storage for our water requirements.

NFGL is providing tillage services to the local farm community at subsidized rates to ensure participation/engagement in conservation activities such as gulley plugging and environmental awareness and management programs.

    Production Facilities

The production facility has two parts: Juice plant & Yoghurt plant.

    Juice Plant

Our Juice plant consists of a fresh fruit-packing house, a puree plant and a juice blending and bottling plant as well as a refrigerated distribution system.

    Fresh Fruit Packing House

The fresh fruit packing house prepares fresh fruits for juicing and puree. In this facility, fresh fruits are inspected, sorted, weighed, washed and prepared for pulp extraction.

    Puree Plant

In our Puree Plant we process a wide cross-section of Nigerian fruits, while in season. These include Mango, Orange, Guava, Pineapple and Passion Fruit. In this facility, the fresh fruit juice is extracted. The process of extracting the juice varies according to the type of fruit. Once the juice has been extracted it is either standardized and used immediately in our blending facility, or stored under controlled conditions in our cold rooms.

    Blending and Bottling

In our blending facility the puree extracted from the fresh raw fruits are blended in specific amounts in accordance with our recipes to make each juice flavor. All ingredients and puree are first approved by our Quality Control Team (QCT) before being used. The Juice is than passed through a homogenizer & pasteurizer before it is sent to the filling plant for packaging

Our Juices are then packaged in PET bottles using high-speed fillers. Our product sizes range from 500ml and 1Litre. For traceability and to inform our consumers, all bottle caps contain a manufacturing date, batch code and expiry date. After filling, the product is nicely shrink wrapped to form a carton and conveyed to the staging area, where it is palletized and then transported to the storage facility for stocking and distribution.

    Yogurt Plant

    Processing Plant

We have a fully automatic yoghurt processing plant which can process 5 million liters of yoghurt annually. The yoghurt is manufactured with fresh milk/ milk powder and the best quality ingredients like cultures and stabilizers are used. The milk is pasteurized and stored in the holding tanks where culture is added to the milk and left for about 8 hours to inoculate under controlled conditions.

    Filling Plant

The yoghurt in the inoculation tanks is passed through the chiller to reduce the temperature before it is sent to the filling plant. We have a state of the art fully automatic filling plant which has a capacity to pack about 10 million liters of yoghurt per annum. The yoghurt is packed in 500 ml & 1L PET bottles and shrink wrapped and sent to the cold rooms for dispatch to the market.

    Refrigerated Distribution System

Our Yoghurt products are required to be kept chilled throughout their life-cycle. To ensure product integrity, NFGL has invested in a “state of the art” chilled distribution system. This begins with our 2,000 square foot cold room at our farm and we distribute to 7 depots in Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Ibadan and Lagos with our fleet of over 30 refrigerated trucks for secondary distribution. Every depot has a dry and cold storage to keep the quality of the product intact.

    Our vision

“Make a new friend every day.” That motto, voiced by Paul Ricard, was the inspiration for our tagline, “Créateurs de convivialité”. Convivialité is our business and our raison d’être. Our goal is to encourage people to go out in search of friends old and new, because those day-to-day encounters create a better world.

Convivialité is more than our profession: it is our driving purpose and it comes to life through our shared belief that as humans we have an innate need to come together to create joyful moments, and in these moments, the age-old ritual of sharing a drink, with or without alcohol, can help us bond.

Our unique portfolio of strong, premium brands, our long-term customer-centric strategy, our highly dedicated teams and our sustainable and responsible approach to everything we do are key to the Group becoming the world leader in wines and spirits.

    Our ambition

If we succeed in becoming “créateurs de convivialité”, placing one of our brands at each moment of convivialité, Pernod Ricard will inevitably become the global leader of the wine and spirits industry. That leadership ambition is underpinned by the Pernod Ricard Mindset: a conquering team spirit and collective desire to come out on top.

To be the future leader, we need to begin acting like a leader – like a company that moves the goalposts, that challenges the status quo. These growth drivers will make the difference in an extremely competitive environment.

We will achieve industry leadership by allowing each of our brands to flourish while respecting their identity, terroir and savoir-faire. We will work hand in hand with farmers, suppliers and local communities to improve our environmental practices.

  • Tesco plc

    Tesco plc

As a leading retailer, with over 400,000 colleagues, we serve millions of customers every week, in our stores and online.

Jack Cohen began selling surplus groceries from a stall in the East End of London in 1919. He left the Royal Flying Corp at the end of the Great War and used his demob money to buy the first day's stock. From day one, Jack believed in putting affordable food in the reach of everybody. At the end of the first day Jack Cohen made a profit of £1 on sales of £4.

The first own-brand product sold, which Jack promised would bring unequalled value, was Tesco Tea - before the company was called Tesco. The name comes from the initials of TE Stockwell, who was a partner in the firm of tea suppliers, and CO from Jack's surname.

Jack Cohen opened the first Tesco store in Burnt Oak, Edgware, north London. The store sold great value dry goods and the first ever branded product, which, unsurprisingly, was Tesco Tea!

Jack Cohen bought a plot of land at Angel Road, Edmonton, north London to build a new headquarters and warehouse. It was the first modern food warehouse in the country. New ideas for stock control brought greater savings for customers.

The 1930s saw Jack Cohen buying stores and growing the business. Tesco expanded across London, into the suburbs and neighbouring counties.

At the outbreak of World War II, Jack even introduced rationing ahead of the government, so that everyone was treated equally, rich or poor.

Bringing self-service to Britain in 1946, Jack Cohen travelled to America and brought back an idea that would change the face of British shopping.

Tesco Stores (Holdings) was floated on the stock exchange with a share price of 25 pence.

Jack Cohen decided to venture into self-service following a research visit to North America. The first of these new stores opened in St Albans, Hertfordshire in 1948 with a mixed reaction from customers at first.

The Company’s commitment to sourcing locally and processing real-fruit based products enhances the livelihood and socio-economic condition of hundreds of smallholder farmers and youths—especially women—in rural communities.

Wilson’s is pursuing attractive growth opportunities in hotels, event centers, corporate partnerships, eateries and informal market segments—which account for over 95% of Nigeria’s daily commerce.

Wilson’s is currently looking to expand across Nigeria as well as into pan-African markets—beginning with West Africa. Wilson’s has a loyal and growing following of customers who have made the product one of the best-selling in its category—not-from-concentrate juices and natural beverages.

Wilson’s strategy is to (i) build strong brand identity associated with health, aspiration, joy and a fun filled lifestyle, (ii) significantly expand operational and distribution partnerships, (iii) promote rapid sales growth among the young professional class in Nigeria’s largest cities and (iv) drive continuous operational improvements and efficiencies to maintain cost advantages over competitors. This will enable more aggressive pricing to continue expansion through Nigeria and the larger region.
