Mobile Phone Business

After years of expansion, the company has become a leading player in the mobile industries of global emerging markets. In 2022, Transsion sold 156 million mobile phones globally. While maintaining its leading position in the African market, Transsion has achieved strong growth in new markets. According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Transsion ranked No. 3 in the global mobile phone market in 2022 with a 11.7% market share, and ranked No. 6 in the global smartphone market with a 6.0% market share. Transsion’s smartphone shipments took the top spot in Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and ranked No. 6 in India.

Transsion’s three mobile phone brands TECNO, itel, and Infinix ranked 6th, 15th and 25th respectively among the 2022 TOP 100 MOST ADMIRED BRANDS IN AFRICA, a ranking compiled by African Business (June 2022).

Transsion has made technology innovation one of its core strategies. Transsion has R&D centres in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing in China. By the end of 2022, Transsion has 3,901 R&D staff. By continuously increasing R&D investment, Transsion has strengthened its differentiated product competitiveness and expanded its competitive advantage in localized technology innovation in emerging markets to improve user experience and create value for consumers.

Based on the needs of local users, Transsion has conducted extensive technology research in the fields of AI voice recognition and visual perception, dark-complexion photography technology, intelligent charging and super power saving, cloud system software, intelligent data engine, new hardware materials and OS system. Mobile Internet Business

Based on secondary development and deep customization of the Android system platform, Transsion branded phones are equipped with intelligent operating systems, including HiOS, itelOS, and XOS (Transsion OS). Currently, Transsion OS is a mainstream operating system in global emerging markets including Africa. Within Transsion OS, the company has developed an app store, game centre, phone master, and other related tools and applications. According to The AppsFlyer Performance Index XII released in March 2022, Transsion Mobile Internet ranked No. 2 in the global growth index.

Transsion is dedicated to the establishment and continuous operation of a mobile ecosystem in emerging markets.
